This field is used to preserve the BGP next hop when forwarding routes to this eBGP peer. By default, the next hop of a route is preserved when advertising the route to an iBGP peer, but is updated when advertising the route to an eBGP peer. Setting this to 'true' over-rides this behavior and preserves the next hop when routes are advertised to this eBGP peer. The peer may be configured to ignore this field and instead obtain the value from a peer-group as explained in the table description.
