The transmit filter Roll-off factor setting determines the output spectrum excess bandwidth by controlling the RCRO (Root Cosine Roll-off) factor of the matched filter at the modulator output. The lower the Roll-off factor the higher the throughput. Note that increasing the throughput (higher symbolrate) requires more power from the satellite or will result in a lower carrier-to-noise. All Roll-off factor settings can also be applied for DVB-S.
