A part of the systems global positioning data. The latitude gives the location of a place on Earth (or other planetary body) north or south of the equator. Lines of Latitude has a range of +-90 degrees and are the imaginary horizontal lines shown running east-to-west (or west to east). Latitude and Longitude together with the Elevation can be used for automagically placing system icons on NMS/Sitemonitors system that support this.
